Frontline Voices #1: The Water Women of Wambiti

For Virginia, Mary and Marion, year-round, nearby access to clean water means dignity. It means time for education and work, clean homes, growing crops, and the chance to live without fear of drought.

The first video in our Frontline Voices series follows a community that, with support from Sand Dams Worldwide, has created its own clean water source amid growing scarcity. Watch the story of the Water Women of Wambiti here:

Howden Foundation supports Sand Dams Worldwide and its local partner, Churches Action in Relief and Development, to build sand dams in East Africa. This nature-based rainwater harvesting solution can store up to 40 million litres, providing vital water and food security for frontline communities.
